Sulaway versus Claus plant Flow scheme
A Sulaway package has an easier and cheaper process than the Claus plant. Our package produces sulphuric acid (H2SO4) instead of sulphur. For the acid (about 85% purity), a profitable market is available.
Sulphuric acid (H2SO4) has many applications:
- In the oil refinery for production of gasoline
- Batteries for the automotive industry: electric cars etc.
- Manufacturing fertiliser
- Gas drying
- Reagents for organic syntheses
Sulphur is a non-sellable product, in the contrary customer has to pay for waste processing.
The Sulaway plant is two times more expensive, but it’s return on investment is less than five years due to the sales of acid (H2SO4)
